We know every plant’s full life cycle.
And now, so do you.
Meet our Eastern European natives, trusted for centuries. Mineral-rich, with hundreds of naturally occurring compounds. Our formulas keep that power intact –– the Miunáe way.
Arnica (Mountain)
Arnica Montana
-
Mountain Arnica grows where little else can. At altitude in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, in thin clean air and mineral-rich soil, under conditions harsh enough that the plant answers by concentrating its own chemistry. The hardship is the point: the tougher the ground, the richer the flower. Ours is wild-harvested by hand from these high slopes, rich in sesquiterpene lactones and flavonoids. Woven into European traditions for as long as anyone has kept record.

Basil
Ocimum Basilicum
-
Basil is deeply embedded in Romanian culinary and herbal tradition. We harvest it fresh at the height of its aromatic intensity, when its scent is sharpest and greenest. Rich in rosmarinic acid and flavonoids, it brings a bright, herbaceous lift. The unmistakable character of a plant grown in genuinely fertile soil.

Beeswax
Cera Alba
-
Romanian beekeeping carries centuries of tradition. Bees foraging across wildflower meadows and herb-rich countryside, producing wax that takes on the character of its landscape. In The Original Balm, Beeswax forms a soft, breathable layer that gives the balm its texture and staying power, with no synthetic thickeners or emulsifiers. The natural way to hold a formula together.

Birch (Silver)
Betula Pendula
-
Silver Birch runs through Romanian forest and folk tradition. We gather its leaves in spring, the short stretch when their compound content is at its highest, yielding an extract rich in betulin, flavonoids and saponins. A quietly trusted Eastern European botanical, used for generations and asked for by name in old herbal records.
Found in: Eye Elixir
Calendula
Calendula Officinalis
-
Calendula has grown across Romanian fields for generations, used in local folk tradition long before it became one of the most studied botanicals in European herbalism. We harvest ours at peak bloom, when its golden petals are richest in flavonoids and carotenoids that support a balanced complexion. Gentle, familiar, and earned its place over centuries.

Grape Seed
Vitis Vinifera
-
Romania’s winemaking tradition goes back centuries. We use what the wine industry leaves behind, turning the seed most growers discard into oil. Nothing wasted. Rich in oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), among the most potent naturally occurring antioxidants in botanical research, it supports the appearance of firm, resilient skin.

Jasmine
Jasminum Grandiflorum
-
One of the most complex aromatics that exists, its scent built from hundreds of compounds that shift and unfold on the skin. The flowers open and release their scent in a narrow window, so ours are hand-picked at dawn, at the exact hour the aroma runs deepest. And unlike nearly every brand that buys Jasmine ready-made, we grow ours in Dobrogea and slow-infuse it ourselves, start to finish. Rich in benzyl acetate and indole, as rare to find as it is unforgettable to wear.

Lavender
Lavandula Angustifolia
-
Romania’s climate and soil give Lavender a distinctive aromatic depth. We capture ours through hydrodistillation and slow maceration, keeping its full natural complexity, rich in linalool and linalyl acetate. One of the most studied aromatic plants in the world, and one of the most loved. A calming scent recognized across cultures and centuries.

Lily (White)
Lilium Candidum
-
A flower woven into Eastern European beauty ritual for centuries, prized long before anyone could name what was in it. We harvest ours in Dobrogea at full bloom, the brief window when the flower is at its richest, then macerate it slowly in Sunflower oil for weeks. Fresh petals, no drying, no rushing. It’s a slow, patient process, but it’s the only way to keep the full character of a flower this delicate. Rich in flavonoids and polysaccharides.

Linden
Tilia Cordata
-
In Romania, Linden tea is a household ritual. The trees bloom briefly and intensely each summer, and we gather the flowers in that narrow window at peak aromatic intensity. That same gentleness carries into an extract rich in flavonoids and mucilages, leaving skin feeling soft and comforted. Among Eastern Europe’s most beloved botanicals, for good reason.

Pine (Scots)
Pinus Sylvestris
-
Scots Pine grows across Romania’s Carpathian forests. We gather its buds in early spring while they’re young and most concentrated in resinous compounds. Rich in terpenes and flavonoids, used in Eastern European folk tradition for generations. In The Original Balm, it works quietly alongside Spruce Resin. Forest-deep, functional, earned.

Rose (Damask)
Rosa Damascena
-
The most prized rose in perfumery. Complex, multi-layered, known as liquid gold. Damask Rose evolved into a strain all its own in Bulgaria’s Valley of Roses, shaped by ground found nowhere else. Around 3,000 kilos of petals, hand-picked at dawn, make a single kilo of oil. A rose we don’t grow ourselves, because no other soil makes it like this. Rich in citronellol, geraniol and hundreds of aromatic compounds.

Rosehip
Rosa Canina
-
Rosehip grows wild across Romanian hillsides and forest edges. We gather in autumn at its deepest red maturity, when the fruit is most concentrated. Rich in carotenoids, tocopherols and essential fatty acids, its complex botanical profile has made it one of Eastern Europe’s most traditionally used skin botanicals. Picked at the one moment of the year it’s truly ready.

Rosmarinus Officinalis
-
Rosemary has long been part of Eastern European herbal tradition, growing across Romania’s sunnier regions. We extract through distillation to preserve its full aromatic and active profile. Rich in 1,8-cineole and camphor, naturally occurring compounds with a long history in European botanical tradition. Its scent is sharp, herbaceous and immediately present.

Sea Buckthorn
Hippophae Rhamnoides
-
One of the most nutrient-dense fruits in nature, and one of the only plants on earth that carries Omega-7, alongside beta-carotene, tocopherols and the carotenoids that give the berry its blazing orange. We waste none of it. The fruit is pressed for its juice, then the skins and seeds are slowly dried and macerated for weeks, pulling every last compound from a berry most of the world throws half away. Wild-grown across Romanian countryside, hand-harvested at peak ripeness. When its color, and everything behind it, runs deepest.

Sinks in without heaviness, leaving skin feeling nourished.
Spruce
Picea Abies
-
From Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, one of Europe’s last great forest ecosystems, where Spruce grows wild above 1,400 meters, in thin mountain air and cold that concentrate its resin. We gather the resin by hand without harming a single tree, and distill the leaf oil to capture the scent of that exact landscape. Rich in terpenes and resinous compounds, it carries the deep, cool stillness of the forest onto the skin.
